“Ecce Cor Meum, Behold My Heart” The Heart of the Missionary Disciple

Successful ministers engage the heart in missionary discipleship! Jesus shares His heart with us and we are challenged to bare our hearts to those we serve. We will look at various components of our hearts necessary for missionary discipleship. Through story, poignant, humorous and insightful, participants will experience the "Joy of the Gospel", and the challenge and affirmation that is needed for our common work in announcing the Good News. Missionary hearts, "discern the paths of the Spirit, and so it always does what good it can, even if in the process, its shoes get soiled by the mud of the street."  (EG 45)

Monsignor Jim Vlaun is the President and CEO of the national television and media network, Catholic Faith Network (CFNtv.org and the app, CFN) that has partnered with (Arch)Dioceses across the country. He is a priest of the Diocese of Rockville Centre, NY and an Emmy-nominated host. Monsignor has used media throughout his priesthood to evangelize. In addition to hosting duties on a number of series, Monsignor Vlaun hosts a popular cooking show, "Real Food," which is available On Demand through the CFN network. He is the author of three books, and has hosted,  "Religion and Rock" on terrestrial radio and on Sirius XM, The Catholic Channel for 33 years. For ten years now, Monsignor offers a scripture reflection on Mondays on the USCCB website, USCCB.org and after 20 years, he is the retired chaplain for the New York Jets.
