We have been taught, conditioned perhaps, into believing that our effectiveness lies in our strategic planning. We have annual targets: 3 year plans, 5 year plans and we ask ourselves, "Where do you see yourself in 3 years, 5 years?" This seemingly worked well until a pandemic such as Covid, bumps and bruises its way into our lives and causes "interruptions". Small ones, big ones, tragic and providential ones. Perhaps there is more to the interruptions of life than we first see. A brief glance at the ministry of Jesus and we begin to see that the interruptions may prove to be more of an opportunity than an inconvenience. The very purpose of our lives may not be in the "planning" but in the interruptions. In the wake of the most disruptive "interruption" the world has recently faced, how might we find living waters of hope, not so much in our plans, but in the encounters we call, "interruptions".
